I Need a Hand, not a Handout! Hi, I'm Denver and I want to share my Black Light Amusement park with you. I'm 41, mentally challenged and have epilepsy that is uncontrolled by medicine and keeps me from working. I have however, over the past few year been able to create this animated model amusement park that I think is one of a kind. My seizures have caused it to destroyed it a couple of times but I've never given up. I'm now facing some other medical problems and I need a hand, please. In spite of all my problems and roadblocks, I've never given up on a dream that I've had as a child. It's all my work, every bit of it, and I'd like to share it with you. The only help I ever had was transportation for parts and pieces and my friend helped in locating the right motor and never gave up on me either. My goal was to have as many of these rides to be in motion as I could by using just one motor. Trial and error of over two years resulted in what you see today but it is a work in progress and slow progress at that. My seizures have destroyed the Empire State Building 3 times and I had to rebuild it each time. Similar setbacks have happened along the way with some other pieces. I hope you enjoy what you see and will help me by sending a donation for the DVD. It’s over 50 minutes long , highly entertaining and shows some of the early stages of construction. Also pictures of a collection I had in 1995 that I entrusted to my half-brother who then stole them from me. You may think all this strange for someone 41, but It's the best I have to offer with my limited skills and capacity. I need your help please. For myself and my best friend of 25 years friend who picks me up every time I go down but I'm not asking for a hand out. I want to share what I've done with you and my friend has mastered a DVD that showcases my hand made Black Light Animated Amusement Park. Most that have seen it are awed by it and I know you will be too. A 7-year-old son of one of our former bartenders thought it was "real" when he saw it. The video is really good quality and gets right down into the rides. It does cost about $3.00 to make the DVD and send it to you. I'd be happy with any donation, but is a minimum of $10 too much to ask for the DVD? The coloring I added for the black light effect makes for some real 3-D fun when used with the types of glasses that they provide at laser shows and fireworks shows. The ones we use are called ChromaDepth 3-D and are available at http://www.chromatech.com . The DVD has many still pictures and close-ups of my work, some video of the underlying mechanism I made for an early stage, my collection of 1995 and lots of video of the current collection in various stages of work. It will never really be finished. I know you'll enjoy it and I hope it will be a testament to anyone with similar or other disabilities that by never giving up, you can achieve a dream. It's just not always the dream that is needed for survival in this world. I'm proud of what I've done. It's all I have to offer. Please let me share it with you. This website was my original idea as I want to share my creation with the world. My friend, Ralph, did the video, DVD authoring and this website. I approved the site and the words he wrote. I could never write like that but those are my feelings in his words. All the model work including the animation was done solely by me and is originally mine so I guess it's a joint effort. Many of the rides I made myself and others were Faller or IHC kits that I customized. You can be sure that I will help in packaging the DVD to send to you with a hand written note of thanks. Thank you for helping. My prayers are with you as I need yours also.
